Eligibility Criteria

Posts to apply - Interested and eligible aspirants can apply based on their age and educational qualification for the post of commissioned officers in Flying, Ground Duty and Technical Branches of Indian Air Force.
Minimum Educational Qualification:
The minimum qualification is Graduation (B.E. / B.Tech. for Flying / Technical branches). However the qualification differs for different posts. Also there are some height metrics. Check official notification for details.

Pay as per defence matrix / Salary of IAF Officers -
Flying branch- Rs. 56100-177500 - L10 - MSP 15500
Flight Cadets will be given a fixed stipend of Rs 56,100/- per month during the period of training.
Application Fee: Rs. 250 for all categories of candidates.

AFCAT written exam consists of General Knowledge, Math, English and Reasoning. Maximum marks will be 300. Total 100 questions will be asked and time allowed for the exam is 2 hours. Every question carry 3 marks and there is 1/3 negative marking. For every wrong answer given by the aspirant, 1 mark will be deducted as penalty. No marks will be deducted if the question is left unanswered.
Those candidates who apply for technical branch, will have to attend EKT exam which is conducted just after AFCAT. It is mandatory for candidates applying for technical branch. It consist of 50 questions with one mark for every correct answer.
