Know Punjab Police Constable Salary 2023 and Pay Scale
During Probation Period
When a candidate gets selected as constable in Punjab police, then the candidate is put in 3 years probation period. During this period, candidate is given a fixed remuneration of Rs. 19900 per month. No Allowances (except travelling allowance) is given to the candidate during probation period. No entitlement of annual increment will be given during probation. After successful completion of probation, salary as per level 2 of 7th pay commission pay matrix is given to the candidate.
Pay Scale:
The starting pay for Constable post in Punjab Police has been fixed at Rs.19900/- per month (minimum pay admissible) at Level 2 of 7th CPC/Pay Matrix (Rs. 19900-63200).
- Except minimum pay admissible, the decision regarding allowances will be taken later.
- On 6th Pay Commission report, there will be no revision in this pay matrix.
After probation period
On the basis of above pay scale, the approximate starting salary after 3 years probation period will be around Rs. 31000-34000. However this salary increase / decrease depends on candidate's place of posting and allowances given by department.
- Starting Total Salary of Constable in Punjab (after 3 years probation): Around Rs. 31000-34000 per month depending on area of posting and allowances.
- Deductions: Around Rs. 2800
- Cash in Hand Salary: Rs. 28200-31200 per month.
Deductions: This includes 10% deduction of National Pension Scheme from basic pay and other taxes as applicable.
Posting of candidate can be done in district of Punjab, India or abroad as per requirement.
